Why we choose FSC wood

From the very beginning of Gaia Baby, everything has come from our desire to be a sustainable nursery brand. We want to leave our mark on the world, but not on the environment. We want to create a world that is better for the little people we are raising. And so this has informed every single decision we have made, from the design and functionality of our products to the materials we use to make them, right down to the factories we choose to partner with.

Firstly, Gaia Baby furniture is made from natural wood, rather than composite. This wood is sourced from forests that are monitored by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Their role not only applies to the sustainable management of the forests themselves, but also to the manufacturing process and people who work throughout that process. The slogan is “Forests, for all, forever”.

By choosing to use FSC Certified wood, Gaia Baby are part of a global community of companies taking responsibility for their environmental footprint by shifting the global forest trend toward sustainable use, conservation, restoration, and respect for all. In return, the FSC will promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests. It’s a win win!
