Hera Bedside Crib
The Hera Crib has a generous baby sleep space of 36 x 78 cm
The Hera Crib comes complete with a superior quality, UK made mattress. Free from harmful chemicals, the mattress features Kidtech foam which provides excellent support and helps to regulate body temperature.
The mattress cover is water resistant and washable up to 60 °C.
Underneath your baby, is a unique perforated double layered base system.
This patent pending design creates an air cushion under your baby, ensuring 24/7, 360° air circulation for maximum peace of mind.
For fussy or restless sleepers, the dual base can be easily adjusted with our no-tools, integrated, Reflux setting.
With 5 different height adjustments, the Hera crib fits all parent bed styles from platform to divan style beds (parent mattress height from 56.5 cm up to 70cm).
The crib top lifts easily off the base, which, fitted with castors, makes it super easy to move around the house or from room to room.
The luxurious interior of the crib is finished with a soft organic cotton jersey, gently padded with fully breathable, recycled, composite foam.
All interior fabrics can be removed easily, and machine washed.
The Hera Crib is suitable from birth to 6 months.
Extend the life of your Hera crib by repurposing it as a generous toy box or laundry unit with the addition of our felt storage boxes (sold separately).
Hera Cot Bed
The sleep / mattress area of the cot is exactly 120 cm (L) X 60 cm (W)
The external dimensions of the cot bed:

The Hera Cot is tested to EN716. In order to pass this standard, the cot in the top position, is drop tested with a weight of 10kg.
In First Bed mode, the Hera Cot is tested to BS8509. As part of this standard, the bed base is drop tested with a weight of 35kg. Thus we can say the cot is suitable for a baby (in top position) up to 10kg, and for a toddler/child (in first bed position) up to 35kg.

If purchasing a mattress from a different manufacturer, make
sure the mattress is made to fit your cot exactly and meets with all necessary safety standards
Top position/Newborn
Once your baby starts to
roll/turnover or pull up in the cot, this is the stage at which you must lower the mattress height to the next position
Mid position (UK/EN only) Once your baby is able to
sit up unaided or has reached a weight of 10kg, this is the stage at which it is recommended you lower the mattress to the lowest position
Lowest Position
Your baby can stay in the cot in
this position as long as they are happy. Generally, at age 3-4, your toddler will ask to move to a big bed. This is your trigger to transition to ‘Toddler Bed’ mode.

The Hera cot bed is made from Ash wood. The wood used to make this piece of furniture is grown in an FSC forest and harvested in accordance with FSC guidelines. Ash trees are drought
resistant and will grow well in many different soil types. Ash wood is an incredibly hard and durable wood type. Unique amongst hard woods, ash trees capture carbon from the atmosphere, and ash
furniture stores it for decades.
All parts and components of your Hera cot bed can be recycled. Contact your local domestic waste recycling provider for more details
on wood and metal recycling.

The Hera Dresser has two pre-set height options for the shelves. The wooden runners which support the shelves are not adjustable but you can choose to use your dresser with one or two shelves according to your preference.
It is advised that, for safety reasons, you use the wall strap provided to attach your dresser to the wall. Please follow assembly steps in the instruction booklet pages 12-13.

Yes, the Hera Changing Pad is included with purchase.
The Hera Changing Pad features a waterproof zipped PVC cover. The cover can be wiped clean with a mild disinfectant. The pad is safe to use without a cover but it may be more comfortable for your baby if covered with a towelling or cotton cover.

The Hera Changing Station is not safety certified for use with any other cots or dressers.

Serena Cot Bed + Bedside Crib
The maximum height of the Bedside Crib base is 57.5cm from the floor. The mattress adds a further 3cm. The Serena Bedside Crib has 6 different height adjustments and sleep surface should be aligned 10cm / 4in below the parents’ mattress.
The Serena Bedside Crib is fully certified for use up to 6 months. This is the standard for cribs but not all babies are standard. Your baby will tell you when it is time to move! Signs to look out for are: your baby is beginning to roll-over/ pull-up in the crib or simply has outgrown it.

Your Gaia Baby Serena Bedside Cirb is supplied with its own bespoke Crib Mattress, specifically designed & certified for use in cribs.
No, the base of our Serena Bedside Crib is flat. It is also fully ventilated.
It is widely recommended by health care professionals that newborn infants should sleep on their back with no accessories placed in the crib. If your baby has colic, we would strongly recommend consulting with your midwife or healthcare professional who will advise the best solution for you and your baby.
Serena Cot Bed + Mini Cot
You can use the Mini Cot from birth with the mattress in the upper position until your baby is approx. 6 months old. Your baby will display signs e.g. pulling up or rolling over, then it is time to move to the lower mattress height. You can continue to use the Mini Cot until approx. 2 years old.

The Gaia Serena Cot Bed Modular Mattress is a specially designed modular mattress which can be used in both our Mini Cot and and Cot Bed. The modular mattress comes in 3 parts with 2 different sized covers: one for Mini Cot and one for Cot Bed. The mattress is sold separately.
Our Mini cot is not designed or certified for use as a Bedside Crib.
Serena Cot Bed
It is recommended to use the Cot Bed in the higher position until your baby begins to roll over or pull up, usually at approx. 6 months. Once you notice these signs, it is recommended to lower the height of the mattress.

This will depend on your child. If they are asking to move to a “big bed" or you feel they are ready to do so, the Toddler Bed provides a safe, familiar transition stage.
We offer 2 mattress options for use with your Gaia Baby Serena Cot Bed.
a) Gaia Baby Serena Cot Bed Mattress: This is made with premium, nursery-grade foam with fully water-resistant PU cover. It comes with a quilted-cotton, zipped cover which is easy removed for washing and certified to EN16890.
b) Gaia Baby Serena Modular Mattress: This is a premium quality, 3 piece, fully pocket-sprung modular mattress. It’s fully waterproof and comes with 2 different-sized zipped covers to perfectly fit your cot at every stage. The covers are both Oekotex Certified organic.
The First Bed is 140cm in length and should accommodate an average height child up until the age of 5. If your child is still comfortable in the bed beyond this age, you can continue to use it . Our beds are tested up to 200kg drop weight capacity so sitting or playing on the bed is also fine.

Serena Cot Bed & Bedside Crib: Your purchase includes our Bedside Crib mattress. You will need to purchase either our Gaia Baby Serena Cot Bed Mattress or our Gaia Baby Serena Modular Mattress sold separately, depending of your preferences between foam or pocket-sprung mattresses.
Serena Cot Bed & Mini Cot: Our Gaia Baby Serena Modular Mattress is a modular mattress and the only mattress that is compatible with Mini Cot.
Serena Cot Bed: You can purchase either the Gaia Baby Serena Cot Bed Mattress or Gaia Baby Serena Modular Mattress separately, depending of your preferences between foam or sprung mattresses. The Cot Bed Mattress is only compatible when your cot is in Cot Bed /Toddler Bed and First Bed modes.
Great question! We’re very proud of the innovation behind our modular mattress! The Cot Bed Modular Mattress consists of 3 separate parts and 2 different sized covers. When used with our Mini Cot, the middle part is removed, the two ends join together and are secured using the smaller cover (provided). When expanding from the Mini Cot to Cot Bed, the middle part of the mattress is inserted between two ends and the larger cover is used to secure.

The legs are made from natural birch wood sourced from European FSC certified sustainable forests.
Flame retardant treatment of fabrics is a legal requirement in the UK. Gaia Baby products meet all applicable UK flame retardancy legislation (EN/BS standards). All our products are tested at an independent, internationally accredited testing facility to ensure they meet the requirements of the latest EN/BS standards.
The Serena Rocking Chair & Footstool are upholstered in a durable and hardwearing polyester fabric. We recommend spot cleaning the fabric with a clean damp cloth and some gentle detergent.
